Standing at the top of the stairs, the train he missed pulling away. Even now, in his mid forties, the country boy in him was still amazed; How is it possible? How could he be standing in the middle of Sydney and not see a single person he knew?
Alone, isolated. Hundreds if not thousands of people moved around him. Adrift in his own thoughts. In a prison of his own creation; confusion and turmoil on his mind.
Then he saw her, the one person in this throng of humanity that bought him back to life; making him real again.
