‘Silence!’
The statement was met with shocked silence. He knew what had been said was a lie, a blatant lie. Yet everyone around him was buying it.
It was not a case of the emperor has no clothes, but the crowd. Reality was now fiction and fiction reality. What was he to do, what could he do.
To deny the speakers words he would make himself a pariah. How long could this go on? Was he really in the box seat to an Orwellian world. Would he manage to keep his eyes and mind open as others willingly shut theirs.
